The village is a typical Andalusian one. Men go to work in the Campo on their mules. There are also three viewpoints in the village with sweeping views of the village of Olivar and its surroundings, including the dam and the badlands.

The village has all amenities, including a pharmacy, butcher, bakery, shops, bars, doctors and a swimming pool in the village. A 5-minute drive away is Hotel/Restaurant Los Chaparros, a petrol station and Lake Nagratin where you can kayak, canoe and swim.
